Private Pleasures is the appropriation of a series of vintage postcards from the colonial collection Scenes et Types (multiple editors, 1880 to 1920) that I found in the drawer of the desk I was using at the time. The cards pretend to follow an ethnographic style and depict half naked women from various North African nomadic tribes (Bedouins, Kabyles, Οuled Naïl) in inviting poses. The video is the record of an exercise I realize in order to observe and play with the negative space that bodies produce.
